The Jewish festival of Sukkot begins at sunset on Friday, 6 October and concludes on the evening of Friday, 13 October.
For your general knowledge, Sukkot commemorates the Biblical pilgrimage of the Jews to the temple in Jerusalem. During this festival, Jews eat, entertain and relax in temporarily constructed sukkot, or huts, which recall the dwellings occupied by ancient Israelites during their 40 years of wandering in the desert following the exodus from Egypt.
