Yesterday, on Sunday 19 of November for our 6 months wedding anniversary, Samarih and I decided to go to the movies and watch James Bond OO7. We ate at home and here is what we paid:
Taxi to the movies by the beach: NIS 30
Movie tickets for two of us: NIS 70
2 med. Drinks and small popcorn: NIS36
Took 2 buses home: NIS 20
Total: NIS 156.00 (around US$ 36.00)
The movie: Priceless!!!
The movie contained a lot of action and kept us on our toes. It was pretty intense. The stunts are pretty incredible. And beautiful scenes in Africa (Uganda being one of them) and Venice.
So as you can see with the price, Samarih and I have been to the theater 3 times in one year. But of course there is so much to do here in Haifa and its surrounding areas that we don't miss it too much. In fact, we sold our TV and DVD a few months earlier so we could focus on reading, enjoying the friendships of people, and spending lots of time in the Shrines. It looks like everything will be a new release when we go back to the United States. However, it appears that we haven't missed out on anything significant. From the limited amount of movies watched, it seems to be more violent and less of content that stimulates the thinking for the betterment of the world. Having said that, we look forward to watching a good movie in the States!
